The spanish designer Jaime Hayon, native of Madrid and now living in London, has been invited as guest of honour of the 2008 edition of the International Biennial Interieur, in Belgium. He is the youngest and first ever Spanish guest of honour. Over the years, this biennial selection has grown into an impressive list with names such as Philippe Starck, Rolf Fehlbaum, Konstantin Grcic en Alfredo Häberli.

"I am pleased with the chance I am given. Interieur is known as a quality biennale, and it's exciting to be a part of it. It is a quite big shoe to fill."

"My work is a mix of everything. I don't bother with labels or categories and just concentrate on creating, which is what really interests me; to be able to express myself through the work, to let loose my imagination and create beautiful things charged with personality and quality."
