An exhibition of new photographs by celebrity photograph Annie Leibovitz has opened to the public on Friday 9 September 2016 at Fabbrica Orobia 15 in Milan, as part of a 10-city global tour.

Named “Women: New Portraits” the prospective reflects the changes in the roles of women today, with over 30 works featuring women of outstanding achievement including artists, musicians, CEOs, politicians, writers and philanthropists.

The exhibit is a continuation of a project that began over fifteen years ago with ‘Women’, a series of photographs published in 1999, containing work from the original series, as well as other unpublished photographs taken since and commissioned by UBS, a global financial services firm.

“It’s fantastic to be partnering with Annie on this project which celebrates incredible women at the top of their fields.” said Fabio Innocenzi, UBS Group Country Head Italy. “We hope that these commissioned photographs and our accompanying public programmes inspire and empower as many people as possible. This tour builds on our long-standing support of initiatives which encourage engagement in contemporary art.”

The new portraits feature women of outstanding achievement including artists, musicians, CEOs, politicians, writers and philanthropists. In addition to the new photographs, the exhibition includes work from the original series, as well as other unpublished photographs taken since.
