Established in 1896, the Carnegie International is the longest-running North American exhibition of international art, second globally only to the Venice Biennale. Organized every three to four years by Carnegie Museum of Art, the International presents an overview of how art and artists respond to the critical questions of our time. The 58th Carnegie International will bring together new commissions, existing works, and projects by established and emerging artists working internationally, domestically, and locally. The exhibition will transform galleries and public spaces in the museum and will occupy sites and engage publics in various Pittsburgh neighborhoods.
