This year in Milan, Droog introduces ‘House of furniture parts’ by Studio Makkink & Bey, a development of the studio’s Stairhouse in Droog’s newly opened New York store. “It is a system that starts from the designer but grows into the culture where it is locally produced, and therefore, it makes me very curious how it will look in five years,” says Jurgen Bey. Droog will also present new work by FormaFantasma (Andrea Trimarchi & Simone Farresin), Chris Kabel, Studio Nacho Carbonell, Luc d’Hanis & Sofie Lachaert, NL Architects (Michael Schoner), Nadia Pedreschi and NEXT Architects. The edition ‘09 is dedicated to the artists Lois & Franziska Weinberger (Wien Austria). It is the first public art project in Milano conceived by the two artists, who participated at Catherine David’s Documenta X, also protagonists of the Austrian Pavilion in the next Venice Biennial.
The project includes two moments: a selection of plants and seeds from their ARCHIVE OF MEMORY dedicated to arboreal essences in danger of dying out and mainly coming from Eastern Europe

A Milan-based up and coming Japanese designer Sakura Adachi is launching seven new products and prototypes are displayed at ANTEPRIMA’s Boutique and also at SaloneSatellite 2009 .
The products range from tableware to furniture: as small as a sugar bowl to as big as panel curtain (room divider).
Having a background in industrial design and woodwork, her products are characterised by a combination of conceptual and craftsmanship approach.
Her products are self communicating, the story behind and concept within, making the best use of characteristics of materials.
