Awarding Ceremony of Inaugural New Wave Fashion Awards
The inaugural New Wave Fashion Awards, organized by the Shanghai Fashion Designers Association, launches its final competition during this season’s Shanghai Fashion Week. Six finalists were selected: Chen Sifan by Sifan Chen,Angus Chiang by Angus Chiang, Moto Guo by Moto Guo and Kinder Huang, 8ON8 by Li Gong, Mayali by Maya Li, and Feng Chen Wang by Feng Chen Wang. These designers will create independent creative spaces across major city landmarks, including Xintiandi Style II House of H&M, K11 Art Mall, Somekh Building, Gibb, Livingston & Co. Building and Film Park.

Through multidimensional expression encompassing product design, aesthetics, spatial design, narrative, and brand structure, the finalists will present fully realized creative systems to both an international professional jury and a public jury. The final winners will be announced at the award ceremony on March 30th.

CPLUS SERIES

Liu Junting is a fashion designer from Taiwan. He launched his own brand, CPlus Series, in 2018. The brand quickly debuted on the official New York Fashion Week calendar, became a CFDA-recognized brand, and has since attracted the continued attention of Vogue Runway. This season, designer turns his gaze to the paradoxical allure of this iconic film, he liberates the symbols of the "corporate world". Meticulous structure, clean lines, refined textures, from the confines of the sterile office, recontextualizing them within the realm of everyday wear.

ENCIICNE

Enciicne is a knitwear design brand founded by Chinese artist and fashion designer Enci Huang. Enci graduated from the Royal College of Art in the UK in 2023. Her practice consistently uses knitwear and conceptual photography as core mediums, exploring narrative expressions that move between the body, gender, and emotional memory. Her representative work, the Curtain series, received a Special Mention from Fondazione Sozzani in Italy and joint recognition from the ITS International Talent Support platform. In 2024, the series was presented as her first solo exhibition at Fondazione Sozzani in Milan. Curtain has since become a defining and permanent collection of the ENCIICNE brand.

YA YI

Yayi Chen Zhou is a fashion designer, creative director, and film-maker. Raised across Spain, China and the US, she draws on a trilingual, multi-cultural upbringing in which divergent cultures collide and coexist. In the AW26 collection, YAYI embarks on a spiritual journey of inner exploration, focusing on inner healing, vibration and balance, so as to explore the inner care of the soul. In 2022, the designer established her namesake label YA YI in New York City. In May, during AAPI Heritage Month, YA YI launched the début series, "It is not spring, Until all flowers blossom”. The collection and performance film premiered in the US and globally at CFDA, SHOWstudio and LABELHOOD. YA YI has been recognized in VOGUE, Elle, DAZED, WWD, Harper’s Bazaar, T Magazine, Madame Figaro, Marie Claire and Fashion Film Festival Milano. After launching the second collection Offshor Roses through a live performance at Fotografiska in Shanghai, YA YI became selected as the recipient of the 10th Edition Talents Lineàpiu Award and was a semi-finalist for the 2024 LVMH Prize.

ZITA TAN

Founded in 2023 in London, Zita Tan is an interdisciplinary independent brand that seamlessly integrates avant-garde fashion, contemporary art, and cutting-edge technology. Zita Tan AW26 | 'The Verge of Proximity'. This season is deeply rooted in the "Theater of Misfits," a corner forgotten by the spotlight. Through hyper-constricted waistlines and eruptive pleats, the brand visualizes the burst of repressed emotions. Complemented by laser-cut distressing and fringed roses, the decadent yet romantic moments of reality are frozen in time.

Built on the idea of natural, flexible beauty, the brand focuses on distinctive details, experimental silhouettes, and garments that move fluidly with the body rather than conforming to rigid structures. The brand’s collections blur the line between artful innovation and casual comfort, offering clothing that feels both progressive and accessible. Under the creative direction of founder and CEO Da jin Lee, NACHE has developed a recognizable aesthetic within the global K-fashion scene.

OPEN YY

Open Yy is a casual-chic womenswear brand founded in Seoul in 2020 by sisters Jiyoung and Boyoung Kim. Originally launched as TheOpen Product, the label later adopted its current name to more accurately reflect its roots. The name draws inspiration from the sisters’ shared name, “Young,” a set of homophones that carry two different meanings - "brightness" and "flower bud." This duality symbolizes the spirit of sisterhood that serves as a central source of their artistic inspiration. Open Yy expresses the diversity of beauty and the many facets within every individual, embodying these values throughout its designs.

SYSTEM

DSM Kei Ninomiya will be the Guest Designer at Pitti Uomo 110
Pitti Immagine has revealed the second Guest Designer for its 110th edition, scheduled for June 16 to 19, 2026, in Florence.
