The Fédération Française du Prêt à Porter Féminin brings French brands to Asia, in Seoul, Taipei, and Tokyo, to celebrate 30 years of Mode in France Tokyo. A B2B initiative designed to transform the desire to export into qualified meetings, useful contacts, and, above all, concrete business.
Mode in France is an action-oriented business platform. The principle is to present a clear selection of companies to facilitate decision-making. French brands meet local buyers, distributors, and decision-makers; Asian partners discover French labels ready to collaborate. This mechanism is crucial in Japan, a market built on trust, consistency, and a nuanced understanding of positioning. Mode in France Tokyo has become an institution. Previous editions have welcomed dozens of French brands and over 1,500 Japanese trade visitors (buyers, agents, distributors). The teams manage networking, cultural translation, and support to transform initial steps into long-term partnerships. This support goes beyond the showroom: retail tours of key stores, concrete resources (market insights, contacts) to identify genuine opportunities. Mode in France offers a complete export experience, preparation, meetings, and debriefing, transforming a potentially daunting leap into a guided journey.
The Federation has launched MIF Shaker, a program demonstrating that exporting is accessible to emerging labels. In partnership with Talent to Trend, this "entry point" offers coaching, a shared exhibition space, and commercial representation in Tokyo. The Federation receives the collections, local experts present them to Japanese buyers, and then the brand receives a detailed report. For approximately €3,000, MIF Shaker removes financial and logistical barriers.
“This support allows labels to ‘get their foot in the door’ and convert interest into orders. The results are encouraging: new brands are attracting the attention of key Japanese players thanks to a demanding curation of innovative, export-ready designs," said Anne-Laure Druguet, International director of the French Federation of Women’s Ready-to-Wear.
In 2026, Mode in France embraces a lifestyle focus: for this anniversary edition, a new artistic direction will showcase French creativity, including a performance by Kumisolo, a Japanese singer and actress based in Paris, and an exhibition by the renowned French atelier Leblond Delienne, a pop-culture icon. Visitors will have the opportunity to discover the worlds of leading artists such as Jean-Charles de Castelbajac, José Lévy, Miguel Chevalier, and others. Mode in France Tokyo 2026 will be a cultural and business event celebrating three decades of Franco-Japanese ties.
