For Fuorisalone 2026, Brera Design District presents the 17th edition of Brera Design Week. The district confirms its established presence with 217 permanent showrooms, including 9 new openings (Alea, Alvea, Annabel Karim Kassar, Casamance, CPRN, Dalfilo, Flobab Gallery, Kronospan, and Verum), alongside more than 190 temporary exhibitors (including leading brands such as Agape, Arpa®, Molteni&C, Flexform, Lualdi, Valcucine, Florim, Kerakoll, Marsotto, Porcelanosa, and Visionnaire), for a program featuring over 300 initiatives.
Among the new features of 2026 is the debut of Fuorisalone Passport, the digital platform developed by Studiolabo, which, through a single registration and a personal QR Code, allows visitors to access a selection of Brera Design Week events more easily, making the visiting experience smoother and more interactive.
The district’s visual identity is signed by Milan-based illustrator Chiara Ghigliazza, who portrays the city from the perspective of the tram, an iconic symbol of Milan and a privileged vantage point on urban life. This year, Brera Design Week revolves around the theme “Essere Progetto”, interpreted by showrooms, companies, designers, and cultural institutions through installations, exhibitions, and events, further reinforcing Brera’s role as one of the main hubs of Fuorisalone.
Google Industrial Design collaborates with ECAL/University of Art and Design Lausanne to develop a concept for a mobile-focused product inspired by a daily ritual. ECAL’s Master Product Design students were invited to envision innovative hardware engaging with contemporary usage. Through compelling storytelling, these conceptual projects consider the human dimension of mobile technology: how it shapes everyday gestures and how our relationships with devices might evolve in the future. The exhibition "A Message From Tomorrow" is on show at Spazio Orso 16.
On the occasion of its 70th anniversary, Pianca presents D.A.M.A. (Design, Art, Music, Architecture), a new format of invitation-only cultural events that will enliven the Pianca&Partners showroom, in Via Porta Tenaglia 7N3, bringing together diverse contemporary disciplines and languages. Inside the showroom, Pianca also presents its new living room collection, an expression of an advanced vision of contemporary living. This collection is enriched with new design collaborations, including the synergy with ADP Altherr Désile Park, who have designed a new chair, and new products developed with international designers such as Calvi Brambilla, Philippe Tabet, Cristina Celestino, and Pier Luigi Frighetto.
Within the evocative Loggia of the Pinacoteca di Brera (Via Brera 28), American Express presents "Serotonin - the chemistry of happiness”, an immersive installation by artist Sara Ricciardi. The work explores the universal bond between beauty and happiness. The artist has translated the scientific concept of the 'happiness hormone' serotonin into a visual and sensory experience.
Doppia Firma is also coming to Brera for the first time. The exhibition, the result of a collaboration between contemporary designers selected by Living and the artisans of the Fondazione Cologni dei Mestieri d’Arte, will no longer be at Villa Mozart but at the Casa degli Artisti as part of Arts & Crafts & Design.
Alessandro Bini, a company specializing in furnishing fabrics, presents the 2026 collection, Trame di Vita, in the evocative exhibition Mondi/26: a sensory journey through art and textile innovation, curated by the architecture and design firm Palomba Serafini Associati, within the spaces of the Protestant Christian Church. An immersive journey that tells short stories and allows visitors to immerse themselves in the evocative power of textiles as works of art, exploring their materials, colors, designs, textures, and softness.
At the Gran Meliá Palazzo Cordusio, Duravit, in collaboration with Patricia Urquiola, presents Balcoon-Scapes, an installation created by the designer exclusively for the brand that elevates the design language and aesthetic principles of Balcoon furnishings into a sculptural dimension. Balcoon-Scapes invites visitors to experience design as a dialogue among object, space, and perception, consciously detached from the bathroom's functional context.
At 10 Corso Como, Visionnaire unveils a new collection developed in collaboration with the NM3 collective, under the creative direction of Eleonore Cavalli. In this collection, matter is never decorative but essential. Each piece seems to exist outside of time, and precisely for this reason, it feels deeply contemporary. The result is a collection of objects that do not dominate space, but intensify it, making it deeper, more intimate, more meaningful.
This year, Palazzo Citterio hosts When Apricots Blossom, an immersive exhibition commissioned by Gayane Umerova, Chairperson of the Uzbekistan Art and Culture Development Foundation (ACDF). Inspired by a poem by renowned Uzbek writer Hamid Olimjon, the exhibition reflects on themes of hope, renewal, and resilience, focusing on discovering the cultural heritage of the Aral Sea region and Karakalpakstan.
Stark returns to Castello Sforzesco with Albori, an installation that interprets and stages the creative process as a physical and sensory crossing. Inside the Sala dei Pilastri, the audience is invited to experience a dynamic divided into three moments: listening, an immersive soundscape that encourages the perception of the surroundings; intuition, a cathartic moment and central core where space condenses into a single point, allowing the vibrant and generative spark of an idea to emerge; and finally, composition, where physical materials and digital scenography interact on a large collaborative table, transforming thought and collective action into tangible form.
