For Milan Design Week 2026, Superstudio returns with a project that explores the transformations of international design by creating a new map that crosses three areas of the city, Tortona, Barona, and Bovisa, and three distinct venues: Superstudio Più, Superstudio Maxi, and the brand-new Superstudio Village. The format unfolds across a total surface of 30,000 square meters and is structured around three thematic identities: SuperNova, SuperCity, and SuperPlayground, each with its own curatorial vision and distinct identity. A total of 70 projects, 91 brands, and 88 designers from 19 countries and 4 continents confirm the event’s international scope.

SuperNova, at Superstudio Più, is dedicated to site-specific installations and major international brands, transforming the space into an immersive laboratory where industry, culture, and vision converge. A highlight of the 2026 edition is the return of Moooi with “Moooi 25 and Promising”, a large-scale, immersive, site-specific installation designed by Marcel Wanders. The project occupies nearly 1,000 square meters and marks a symbolic moment for the Dutch brand, which returns to Milan twenty-five years after its debut in the very same venue. The installation offers a reinterpretation of iconic pieces, reimagined forms, and new experiments, set within a luminous, vibrant scenography that reflects the energy and evolution of the brand over time.

At Superstudio Maxi, the SuperCity project curated by Giulio Cappellini envisions an ideal city of the future, where the boundaries between design, art, and architecture become increasingly blurred. Giulio Cappellini curates an installation that tells the story of tomorrow’s urban landscape, developed in collaboration with leading companies in the sector. The result is an environment with a strong scenographic and almost cinematic language, where dream, materiality, imagination, and design coexist. One of the thematic areas will also be dedicated to international design academies and universities, offering insights into the most urgent and innovative issues of today and strengthening the collaboration with ICFF – International Contemporary Furniture Fair in New York, with a specific focus on the role of education.

The major new development is Superstudio Village, debuting in the Bovisa district with SuperPlayground, a program designed for young designers, emerging studios, and creative collectives. A central feature is the immersive installation “Keep Your Bubble” by Slovak visual artist Lousy Auber, alongside special projects and 33 selected designers chosen from over 200 applications across more than 30 countries through an international open call. A true Design Village, it will feature a dynamic program of installations, talks, workshops, and evening activations, creating a contemporary agora.

Superstudio Design 2026 expands its spaces, content, and opportunities for leading international players, while supporting research and giving visibility to new generations, connecting emerging urban hubs in a narrative that intertwines design and art through a strong and widespread presence.
