The 26th edition of Hyères International Fashion Festival will be held from April 29th to May 3rd, 2011, and the exhibitions will be open until May 29th.

The 26th edition of Hyères International Fashion Festival will be held from April 29th to May 3rd, 2011, and the exhibitions will be open until May 29th. 300 young fashion designers from different nationalities submitted their applications to the villa Noailles, which, after a pre-selection of 53 projects, finally selected 10 of them.
The final selection took place on January 31st at the Parisian theater Edouard VII in the presence of Raf Simons as the festival’s president and the 11 members of the jury.

Each of the ten chosen candidates represent their respective countries. France : Juliette Alleaume and Marie Vial, Céline Méteil and Léa Peckre. Netherlands : Maryam Kordbacheh and Oda Pausma. Belgium : Oriane Leclerq. Swisserland : {Emilie Meldem). These are the candidates for the Women’s collection. For the Men’s collection: Mads Dinesen (Denmark), Michael Kampe and Janosch Mallwitz (Germany).

The jury, chaired by the designer Raf Simons, gathers fashion journalists and personalities such as Tim Blanks (Style.com), Cathy Horyn (The New York Times), and Floriane de Saint Pierre, who has been appointed Chevalier de l’Ordre de la Légion d’Honneur. The musician and sound illustrator Michel Gaubert, the designers of the brands Proenza Schouler, Lazaro Hernandez & Jack McCollough, the designer Christopher Kane and the founder of Corso Como 10, Carla Sozzani will also take part of the jury.

Invited at the Première Vision tradeshow - held from February 8 to 10 - these young designers had the chance to get in touch with the exhibitors who has given them the raw materials in order to create their collections for the festival. Also, a few partner brands will provide them financial help for their future collections.
At the end of the event, two prizes will be awarded to the best designers: The Great Prize of the Jury L’Oréal Professionnel along with 15.000 euro and the Première Vision Prize of 10.000 euro.
