Première Vision Paris has officially unveiled India as the featured country for the upcoming chapter of its editorial platform, "Territories of Savoir-Faire." Following previous editions dedicated to the textile heritages of France, Japan, and Portugal, the trade show is turning its spotlight toward India's centuries-old tradition of handmade artistry.

Organized in partnership with the Embassy of India in France and the Indian Ministry of Textiles, the announcement was made alongside a high-level delegation led by Neelam Shami Rao, Secretary of Textiles, and Dr. Beena, Development Commissioner for Handlooms. The strong official presence underscores a joint commitment to elevate global appreciation for India's rich artisanal heritage.

The January 2026 EU-India Free Trade Agreement grounds this relationship in major economic growth. Representing over €180 billion in annual trade, the deal gives 6,000 European companies direct access to the world’s most populous country. For fashion and textiles, it creates powerful new opportunities driven by modern infrastructure and an emerging generation of talent and consumers.

Bringing together nearly 1,000 global exhibitors, Première Vision Paris stands as the ultimate hub for textile innovation. Through its "Territories of Savoir-Faire" platform, the trade show highlights creative heritages that shape modern fashion, bridging ancestral techniques with modern innovations and connecting Western and Eastern influences. From January 26 to 28, 2027, the Indian chapter will take center stage, featuring dedicated editorial programming, spotlights on artisanal weaving and métiers d'art, and a strong delegation of Indian creatives coordinated with India's Ministry of Textiles. Following a letter of intent signed at Bharat Tex 2026, this initiative lays the groundwork for a long-term strategic partnership focused on trade expansion, trend sharing, and mutual growth between French and Indian fashion leaders.
