In 2016-2017 will be opened a museum of contemporary art at Umm al-Fahm, under Said Abu Shakra's initiative, director of the Umm al-Fahm Art Gallery. It will be called Al Manatar Museum of Art.
Contemporary art exhibitions, photographic archives and testimonies of Arabic men and women who were confronted with the Israeli-Palistinian conflicts in this region will be presented.
The museum will be built on the plans of the Israeli agency SO Architecture, after the refusal of the English-Iranian architect Zaha Hadid.
Said Abu Shakra, specifies that one of the missions of the museum will be to favor the dialogue between Jews and Arabs of Israel. The inspirators of the project hope that the museum will serve as a link between peoples and cultures.
