On the occasion of its 35th anniversary, 10 Corso Como celebrates Viktor Horsting and Rolf Snoeren, the two Dutch designers who have transformed haute couture into a territory of artistic, cultural, and conceptual experimentation. Viktor&Rolf. Spectrum is the first exhibition dedicated to the duo in Italy and is part of 10 Corso Como's ongoing exploration of leading figures of the contemporary scene, confirming a new vision under the direction of Tiziana Fausti and Alessio de' Navasques, curator of the cultural programme at the 10 Corso Como Gallery.

The exhibition takes the form of an evolving device, a sort of conceptual time machine. More than twenty haute couture looks, created over the course of thirty years of the duo's career and selected from their most iconic collections, move beyond a chronological narrative, revealing the continuities, recurrences and transformations that run throughout their practice. An open-ended journey, conceived around the idea of duality, reveals the coherence of a vision that, while constantly reinventing itself, remains faithful to an idea of fashion as an artistic practice and a form of social critique.

From the very beginning, the two designers have appropriated the languages and practices of contemporary art, playing with the representation of the double, as in the work of Andy Warhol and Gilbert & George. Viktor and Rolf have redefined the imagery of contemporary haute couture. From their debut at the Festival International de Mode et de Photographie in Hyères in 1993 to the present day, the Dutch designers have developed a practice that goes beyond the boundaries of fashion to intersect with art, performance and visual culture. Their shows and collections are conceived as autonomous works, each driven by an idea, a reflection, a political or social message, or a provocation.

The exhibition design was conceived by the architecture studio Parasite 2.0 together with the exhibition curator, with the aim of translating the concept of the spectrum into space, together with the structure of refractions, correspondences and contrasts underlying the project.
