Shanghai steps back into the international style spotlight. The Shanghai Fashion Week Organizing Committee has officially unveiled the schedule for the Spring/Summer 2027 season, centered around the theme Renewed Radiance. Running across major cultural and commercial hubs in the city, the week promises nearly 100 runway showcases, close to 1,000 participating brands, and a citywide celebration of fashion, innovation, and urban retail.
Heritage Meets High Fashion on the Runway
Opening the season on October 8 for its 15th appearance, Shanghai-based label Hemu sets the tone with a collection rooted in Dunhuang cultural heritage. Partnering with Yunjin master Jin Wen, the opening showcase highlights traditional Chinese craftsmanship, incorporating Song brocade, Yunjin brocade, kesi silk tapestry, gambiered silk, and intricate embroidery into modern design. Over at the Xintiandi Main Tent, independent contemporary Chinese labels including Xiaoli, Staffonly, Comme Moi, Pronounce, Short Sentence, and Shuting Qiu will unveil their latest collections alongside brands like Gioia Pan, Pantterfly, J Rureminds, Uncoded, Lacerta, Shao, and Shetells. Culture-focused labels such as Tuyue, Sevenlong, Evvly, Awaylee, and Huamushen, together with performance brands Trip&Co and Uto, add further diversity to the main tent lineup. Meanwhile, the young designer incubator Labelhood returns to Yongyuan Road in Jing’an District. This season’s lineup features emerging talents including Yangkehan, Yirantian, Oude Waag, Ao Yes, Chén Sifān, Markgong, and Shushu/Tong.
Major Global Debuts & Collaborations
The SS27 schedule is stacked with international partnerships and cross-industry projects:

Asia’s Premier Commercial Engine
Beyond the runways, Shanghai solidifies its role as a regional business powerhouse. From October 8 to 12 at Crystal Bridge, the Mode Shanghai Fashion Trade Show serves as the central ordering network, with international brands accounting for over half of the lineup. Local industry giants are also making strategic moves: Anta debuts its Anta Iconic collection created alongside designer Chenpeng while officially launching the Anta Shanghai Design Center – Chenpeng Studio. Simultaneously, Ep Yaying returns to expand its international retail reach. Spanning 50,000 square meters across five districts, Mode coordinates with 10 partner showrooms (including Yun, Mmuuzz, Ledome, Dfo, Tudoo, and Alter) and trade platforms such as Ontimeshow, Notes Shanghai, Tube, not Showroom, Lab, Blooming, and The Cool Hunter to form a unified commercial landscape.
Innovation, Sustainability, and Public Experience
The season actively tackles the future of fashion through thought leadership and urban engagement:
> Shan Future Forum 2026: Under the theme Human Algo-Rhythm, experts gather to discuss AI co-creation, changing consumer behaviors, supply chains, and circular resource regeneration.
> M Space Forums: Focuses on brand resilience and creative collaborations, highlighted by a Kering Craft panel event hosted by Kering.
> Ulio Sustainability Space: Material scientists and designers (including BioFleax and Polygiene) focus on material R&D and supply chain sustainability.
> Grand Finale: The week wraps up with the Douyin Fashion Designer Competition Final & Trend Show, featuring 45 finalists presenting over 50 runway looks.
Through Shanghai Fashion Weekend, the energy extends directly to the city’s streets with "see-now-buy-now" pop-ups and curated lifestyle markets, bringing high fashion into direct contact with local consumers across flagship retail districts.
