The danish architect Joern Utzon, who realised the famous Sydney opera house passed away on December 1st, he was 90 years old.
Born on April 9th 1918 in Copenhagen, graduated of the Fine Arts Academy of Copenhagen, he took refuge in Sweden during the Second World War and then moved to Finland where he worked with Alvar Aalto. In 1957, he won the international competition of the Sydney opera house. After differences with the australian authorities he had to abandoned the project halfway. The opera was finally complete by Peter Halln, David Littlemore and Lionel Todd.
