FRANCE / Hyeres: Design Parade 6 at villa Noailles.

The design festival,and its program of exhibitions and conferences will be held in the Villa Noailles and its gardens from the 1st to the 3rd of July 2011.

A tour through the building and the programme of the 2011's edition of the event:

- Salles Voutées: 10 Jeunes Designers.
Visitors will be able to see pieces which have enabled the selection of the 10 young talents in competition for the Grand Prix from the Noailles villa, the CIRVA Prize and the Prix du Public. From the most prestigious European design schools, Emilie Collin-Garros, David Des Moutis,Jean-Baptiste Fastrez, Marc Ferrand,Max Lipsey, Léa Longis, Brynjar Sigurdarson, Erasmus Scherjon, Caroline Perret and Pauline Deltour will have to convince a jury made up of Stefan Diez, Saskia Diez, François Dumas, Lidewij Edelkoort, Marianne Goebl, Didier Krzentowski, Marco Velardi and Sebastian Wrong.

-Salle de Squash and Sautoir: Stefan Diez.
Stefan Diez is exhibiting his work and his design processes through two object typologies: on one hand the Chassis, the Houdini and the 404F chairs, on the other the Paper Bag. The German designer, based in Munich presents a materials-based way of working, oriented around their properties and their limits.

-Piscine: Glass Scene, Le Verre Contemporain
In the pool around sixty pieces from contemporary and modern design collections are displayed. Pieces from 27designers, ranging from
recognised professionals to new talents.
The crystal factories Baccarat and Saint-Louis and the research centres CIAV (Centre International d’Art Verrier) and CIRVA (Centre International de Recherché sur le Verre et les Arts Plastiques) will be honoured equally at this exhibition which offers a panorama of techniques and savoir-faire in the art and craft of glass.

-Gymnase: Adrien Rovero and Sèvres Cité De La Céramique.
The designer presents the fruits of his labours at Sèvres, within the Manufacture de Céramique: a new series of white forms that will serve as supports for the creativity of other artists. Rovero has conceived Les Plaques, three white porcelain planes which will be part of the collection of the Manufacture’s forms.

-Galerie Nouvelle : Positifs Dispositifs.
During the last twelve months, François Dumas took part in the Camper workshop, collaborated with Sevres Cité de la Céramique and developed his Sealed series, the project which won him the Grand Prix de la Villa Noailles in 2010.
{Dumas’ exhibition, Positifs Dispositifs, will present Lace Shoe, a shoe with leather straps, Superimposedvases, a series of vases, and his Sealed collection.

-Verrière: Verre session.
Presentation of the results from the Workshop organised by the Reims Ecole Supérieure d’Art et de Design in collaboration with Ciav from Meisenthal and Salviati in Murano. Lead by designers Renaud Thiry and David Dubois, the students explored glass-moulding techniques with CIAV and Venetian glass in the Salviati studio.
-Palier Piscine: Le Rode .
Outcomes from the workshop of the Ecole Supérieure d’Art de Toulon Provence Méditerranée. Under Antoine Boudin’s leadership, the student-designers explored Provence’s resources and will present their prototypes.

-Villa Initiale: Charles et Marie-Laure De Noailles, une vie de mécènes.
The permanent exhibition of the Villa’s owners, enlightened patrons of the arts, closely linked to avant-garde artistic scene from the 1930s to the 1970s.

-Jardins: A l’ombre, lectures and talks.
Saturday the 2nd July, the public can hear Stefan Diez and Michèle Champenois followed by François Dumas and Antoine Boudin.
On Sunday the 3rd July, designers François Azambourg, Pierre Charpin, David Dubois and Adrien Rovero will take their places in the garden to speak about savoir-faire.

-Tour Des Templiers (Centre ville, Hyeres): Alphabet.
The editor Moustache sets up its an exhibition of their collection and new pieces.

-Centre D’art Contemporain (Le Moulin, La Valette-Du-Var): Promise Design.
After Milan and Paris, the exhibition showcases in Hyeres the young talents of Israelite design.
