Renowned for its strict selection of international contemporary design, the Interieur Biennale is one of the most important events in the international design calendar. Interieur 2012 has undergone profound changes and will cross Biennale Kortrijk EXpo walls to invade the city of Kortrijk and propose a cultural program presented exhibitions, conferences, international meetings, Pecha Kucha Energies, Fab Lab, Lille Design for Change, Living Design and workshops for children.

Here are some major changes to remark in this edition:
-there are two professional days, monday 22 and tuesday 23 October, during which schools and students will not attend to leave time and space for professionals to network with exhibitors.
- the Biennale INTERIEUR 2012 will be spread over two locations: Kortrijk Xpo & Buda Island
- when Kortrijk Xpo closes, a free shuttle to the Buda Island brings to presentations and exhibitions opened until 9:00 pm.
- seven international guests instead of one guest of honour, to meet on Sunday at the Future Primitives lunch in the Buda Factory at 01:00 pm: Nendo (JP), Ross Lovegrove (UK), Makkink & Bey (NL), Greg Lynn (US), Troika (UK), David Bowen (US) and Muller Van Severen (BE).
- for the first time, a floor dedicated to a panel of international design galleries will expose on the new boundaries rocking and waltzing between a blend of different disciplines and trends, ruling art and design itself. A dozen of galleries have been selected, among which the Galerie Gosserez (France), Carpenters Workshop Gallery (United Kingdom), nominated to represent each country in the fair.
