The weekend of 12 and 13 January 2013 marks the start of the event with four main highlights:
Saturday, January 12, 2013 from 11am "Art in the place", a contemporary art trail in Aix-en-Provence. The day opens with the inauguration of a contemporary art exhibition in a public space. Xavier Douroux, curator, chose the biggest names in contemporary art - Yayoi Kusama, Thomas Houseago or Ugo Rondinone, among others - to shake a dozen spaces in the city.
Saturday, January 12, 2013 from 5.30 pm "The opening party" in Marseille. In a large city for pedestrians, everyone can discover Marseille imaginary, punctuated by performances, exhibitions, installations, performances and dances ... But before that, from Grand Littoral, the Parade of Lights will trigger the flagship of the festival.
Sunday, January 13 between 10 am and 3 pm go off to "hunt 13'Or" on the entire territory of Marseille-Provence 2013.
The Sunday, January 13 at 6.30 pm "Revelations in Arles", Episode 1. This opening weekend closes on the banks of the Rhone, in a burst of lights and sounds for an evening combining concerts, fireworks and multimedia spectacles.
