The artist Olafur Eliasson will be the recipient of the City of Goslar’s Kaiser Ring for 2013.

This was announced by Goslar’s Lord Mayor Dr. Oliver Junk at the traditional New Year’s Reception in the Goslar Imperial Palace.

The 45-year old artist who lives in Berlin and Copenhagen will receive the Goslar Kaiser Ring on October 12, 2013 in Goslar in Germany.
Eliasson will receive a simple gold ring depicting the Goslar-born Emperor Henry IV, and the Goslar Museum will purchase one of the artist‘s works for its permanent collection.

The previous three winners of the prize were John Baldessari, Rosemarie Trockel, and David Lynch.
