Born in 1965, Junichi Abe graduated in apparel design at Bunka Fashion College in Tokyo. He participated in the launch of Junya Watanabe, Comme des Garçons. After five years, he left Comme des Garçons to start a new brand called ‘PPCM’ with three other designers as co-founders. After ten years, they mutually disbanded. In May 2004, Junichi Abe established his own brand : Kolor and debuted Paris men’s runway show at AW2012-13 collection.
Over the past few seasons, the Japanese brand evolve from a classic fluidity and lightness into a more structured and mature brand introducing smartness and humor into men’s wardrobes.
Kolor will present his new, 2014 spring-summer collection for men on Thursday evening, 20 June with a fashion show at the Sferisterio in the Parco delle Cascine in Florence.
Junichi Abe with Kolor is the actual menswear guest designer at Pitti Uomo 84 and Pitti W12 alongside Damir Doma for women’s.
