FRANCE / Paris: LVMH PRIZE - YOUNG FASHION DESIGNER

LVMH, the world leader in luxury, launched the LVMH Prize – a prize that is designated for the revelation and support of young talent in the fashion industry. From the end of May 2014 on, this price will reward “very year a young fashion designer and three graduates of fashion schools.”

- LVMH offers the winner a grant of 300, 000 euros and a personalized technical and financial support from the Group for 12 months.
- The three prize-winning graduates from fashion schools will receive a 10,000 euro grant as well as the opportunity to work as part of the design team at a LVMH brand for one year.

The jury will be composed by Creative Directors from the LVMH Group Houses:
Nicolas Ghesquière for Louis Vuitton, Marc Jacobs for Marc Jacobs, Karl Lagerlfeld for Fendi, Humberto Leon and Carol Lim for Kenzo, Phoebe Philo for Céline, Raf Simons for Dior and Riccardo Tisci for Givenchy and also Delphine Arnault - Executive Vice President of Louis Vuitton, Jean-Paul Claverie – Advisor to Bernard Arnault and Pierre-Yves Roussel, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the LVMH Fashion Division.

The winner will be announced in May by the jury which also includes Delphine Arnault (daughter of Bernard Arnault, CEO of LVMH, and Deputy Director General Vuitton), Jean-Paul Claverie and Pierre-Yves Roussel, responsible for LVMH.

Le lauréat du Prix LVMH recevra en trophée une étoile créée par l’artiste Jean-Michel Othoniel, afin qu’elle les accompagne et les protège, à la manière de la bonne étoile de Christian Dior, tout au long du chemin passionnant qui s’ouvre devant eux.

The winner of the LVMH Prize will receive a star trophy created by artist Jean-Michel Othoniel. The star symbolizes the aim to accompany and protect the winner like Christian Dior’s lucky star at every moment of the passionate path.
