The sustainable fashion event will take place on April 24, 2014

The 2014 Copenhagen Fashion Summit, the world’s largest global event on sustainable fashion, will be based this time on “solutions” for a sustainable industry and for sustainable consumption at the Copenhagen Opera House.

The topic has been deliberately chosen since it is “no longer enough to just acknowledge the problems and challenges facing the global fashion industry, but rather it is essential to begin the sustainable transformation of the industry”, as stated on the website.

Leading personalities from the fashion, luxury and business industry will come together in order to discuss the fashion industry’s social and environmental responsibility and solutions. From the globally renowned Luxury and Sport & Lifestyle Group Kering to the multinational H&M, over 1000 industry stakeholders, politicians and decision makers will debate and offer a unique insight to their audience.

The programme for the one-day-summit is divided into the following five parts: I) Summit Opening, II) Sustainable Strategising and Design Integration, III) Sustainable Consumption and Behaviour, IV) Sustainable Fashion Runway Show, V) Fashion Futures: Next Generations and Shared Visions (see below the preliminary programme). During the day, the audience will be able to listen to these topic-based speeches as well as attend the collective runway show featuring 12 prominent Nordic fashion brands such as Swedish Filippa K and Danish Designers Remix and see the exhibitions.

Eva Kruse, CEO of Danish Fashion Institute, expresses her aim with the following words, “it is our hope that the keynotes will inspire and influence the wide spectrum of industry representatives that have already signed up to participate, from the luxury segment key players such as Saint Laurent, Ralph Lauren and Alexander McQueen to the commercial key players like Inditex and Bestseller. Why? Because we need the entire industry to be a part of this agenda”.
