The International Woolmark Prize 2014/15

While the International Woolmark Prize (IWP) inaugurates its third year, The Woolmark Company announces the nominees for the European International Woolmark Prize 2014/2015.

For the first time, two designers will receive the Award of Excellence, one for menswear and one for womenswear. Five regional award competitions will be held in Asia, Australia, Europe, India (and Middle East) and the USA to select ten finalists. Each of these regional finalists will receive a financial contribution of 50,000 Australian dollars to support their next collection and also an invitation to participate in the international final.

The five finalists menswear will meet in London during the Fashion Week men in January 2015 and the five female fashion finalists will meet in Beijing in March 2015.

The respective winners for men and women fashion collection will receive an additional 100,000 Australian dollars to support the development of their collections.

One of the most important facets of the price is that the collections of two international winners will be distributed among the biggest international distribution partners such as Harvey Nichols in the UK, Joyce in China, Saks 5th Avenue in the U.S., Colette in France 10 Corso Como, Italy, Mytheresa.com online and David Jones in Australia.

The European Regional awards will be given in Paris on July 8 during the Haute Couture week, where designers will be required to present the outline of merino wool price, with 6 sketches of the capsule collection merino wool .

The collection will be presented to a panel of experts whose names will be revealed soon.

In order to nominate the creators listed above, the Woolmark Company worked with the world's most influential advisers and organizations such as the CFDA fashion , the British Fashion Council, Vogue Italy, Vogue Paris, GQ France, the Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Madrid, NL Fashion Council, the Flanders Fashion Institute }} and many others.

The Woolmark Prize has now a selection of the most important designers in the world, as well as partnerships with some of the biggest designers including Narciso Rodriguez , Victoria Beckham, Diane von Furstenberg and Richard Nicoll ...

Previous winners, Christian Wijnant in Belgium and Rahul Mishra in India, experienced an exponential increase in their turnover, becoming renowned designers after their respectively nomination launched in London in 2013 and in Milan 2014.
