The French luxury house named her following the departure of Christophe Lemaire

Following Monday's announcement of the upcoming departure of Christophe Lemaire (October 2014), Hermès has appointed Nadège Vanhee-Cybulski artistic director of women’s ready-to-wear.

Trained at Académie Royale des Beaux-Arts d'Anvers, the French designer counts a solid experience in the creative field and a deep knowledge of both French and international markets. Prior to Hermès, Vanhee-Cybulski worked for the American luxury brand The Row where she was women's Design Director. Before that, she worked as a Senior Designer at Céline under Phoebe Philo and mastered her trade at Maison Martin Margiela. The appointment suggests that Hermès values craft and technical skills over reputation, by opting for a low-profile talent like Vanhee-Cybulski, who has proven her worth off the limelight. "We welcome the arrival of Nadège. Her talent and her creative track record will be great assets in the continued development of women’s ready-to-wear,” said Axel Dumas, chief executive officer of Hermès, in a statement.

Nadège Vanhee-Cybulski will present her first collection of women’s ready-to-wear for Hermès during Paris Fashion Week in March 2015 .
