Haters gonna hate: ever since he kicked the Yves out of Saint Laurent, the French Maison’s new Creative Director, Hedi Slimane, has been a media target, and consequently subjected to regular criticism.

But like it or not, according to Kering’s latest business reports, Hedi Slimane’s heroin chic looks sell like hotcakes. In fact, Saint Laurent boosted Kering’s reported second-quarter revenue, exceeding analyst’s expectations with sales climbing 4 percent, and thus even compensated for falling sales of Gucci.

We can only wonder how Cathy Horyn would react to Saint Laurent's whopping figures? The former International New York Times journalist made headlines in 2013, when she criticized Hedi Slimane’s take on Saint Laurent, saying that his designs "have less value than a box of Saint Laurent labels". Well, that's not the case anymore.
