Phillip Lim killed two birds with one stone: not only did the designer impress with a new Spring/Summer 2015 women’s collection during New York Fashion Week, he also opened a new 3.1 Phillip Lim flagship store on the same occasion.

On September 9th, the designer therefore hosted a cocktail party to celebrate the opening of his New Yorker boutique located at 48 Great Jones Street, with a special performance by indie music sensation BANKS. Invited guests included film maker Baz Luhrmann, Style.com Editor-in-Chief Dirk Standen, photographer duo Inez van Lamsweerde & Vinoodh Matadin, as well as fashion socialite Miroslava Duma, among others.

The 3,500 square foot flagship store features the designer’s women’s, men’s, and accessories lines and introduces to a new retail concept conceived by Lim and Campaign, a London-based creative agency. In addition to that, the designer commissioned the reputed photographer Bill Jacobsen to produce a limited-edition photo book - which is sold at the new flagship - featuring artistic imagery of the store under construction.
