Every year British Council & British Fashion Council give a chance to emerging designers to highlight. In 2016 International Fashion Showcase in collaboration with London embassies and cultural institutes presented fashion installations of 80 designers reflecting contemporary cultures of 24 countries. The exposition, entitled Fashion Utopias, took place at Somerset House and was a key part of London Fashion Week public program.

The panel of cultural and commercial fashion experts chaired by Sarah Mower has chosen Czech Republic as the winner for this year. Seven young talented designers have created an ephemeral mirage called “The Last Fata Morgana”. The collection reflects a role of the individual and relevance of fashion in a global context by redefining an ideal world. In this fantastic installation garments, accessories and jewelry are suspended from a tree, like exotic fruit. Magic hair hats of Sofya Samareva, Marketa Kratochvilova’s romantic fetish underwear or semi-transparent gowns by Filip Jakab took part of the exposition curated by Pavel Ivancic, the Czech designer who is in charge of the fashion atelier at Art, Architecture & Design Academy (UMPRUM) in Prague. “This victory has given back to the Czech republic his place on the map of the fashion world,” said Ivancic.
