Demna Gvasalia, artistic director of Balenciaga

Balenciaga has announced its first menswear runway show. After Demna Gvasalia’s debut as a new artistic director in March following the departure of Alexander Wang, the storied Parisian maison, owned by the French multinational company Kering, will showcase its men’s collection in June 2016, during Paris Fashion Week dedicated to SS 2017 collections.

The Georgian designer, who is also founder of Vetements, is ready to stage his menswear show for Balenciaga in Paris, for the first time in the brand’s 99-year-old history. Previously, collections had been shown to buyers and the press by appointment in a presentation format.

"The show will debut the masculine vision of Balenciaga’s new artistic director Demna Gvasalia”, the luxury fashion house said in a statement, according to WWD.
