The Council of Fashion Designers of America has finally announced the talented winners of this CFDA Fashion Award. The ceremony took place at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York, the last June 6th 2016, hosted by Joel McHale to celebrate the David Bowie memory a with performances of Jennifer Hudson and Michael C. Hall.

The CFDA’s 2016 honorees are :

- Marc Jacobs for Proenza Shouler won the WOMENSWEAR award.
- Thom Browne has been chosen as the MENSWEAR designer of the year.
- Rachel Mansur and Floriana Gavriel, for the brand Mansur Gavriel have been awarded as the designers of the Year in the ACCESSORIES category.
- Brandon Maxwell won the Swarowski Womenswear Award.
- Alex, Matthew and Samantha Orley won the Swarowski Menswear Award for the brand Orley.
- Paul Andrew won the Swarowski Accessory Design Award.
- Norma Kamali won the Geoffrey Beene the Lifetime Achievement Award.
- Donna Karan won the Founder’s Award in Honor of Eleanor Lambert.
- Alessandro Michele, for Gucci, won the International Award.
- And Beyoncé won the Fashion Icon Award.
