Wolfgang Joop has chosen Italian catwalks for showing his label Wunderkind for Spring Summer 2017 collection on the occasion of Milan fashion week, with the support of Cnmi-National Chamber of the Italian Fashion. Just a few months after the presentation in Corso Como 10 of Wunder Berlin, a special project of four capsules in collaboration with Comeforbreakfast, Giannico, Isa Arfen and Le Petitis Joueur.
Bon ton retro. It's the next hot season imagined by the famous German designer. A trip in a vintage wardrobe, which reveals its contemporary spirit through a sensual femininity. Among western details, from camperos to fringes, bravely in contrast with a polished and refined elegance made of transparencies, floral applications, embroideries, ruches and a wave of volant and plissé. Playing with the volumes of mini and midi skirts, contrived shoulder pads and balloon shapes.
To finish with waist belts and the precious sparkle of laminated shirts and dresses. A mood that is also reflected on the clothes designed for him, among squares and little squares, stripes, over length and optical effect prints.

Successful designer and artist, Wolfgang Joop designed for his label a collection that interprets and contaminates a bon ton elegance in an original and contemporary key. With a harmonious and smart styling. The all perfectly faithful to aesthetic and cultural codes of the brand.

Born in Potsdam, Germany, in 1944, Wolfgang Joop is a fashion German designer, founder of the fashion and cosmetics company JOOP! He studied advertising psychology and art education at the University of Braunschweig. He was later appointed Honorary Professor for Design by the Berlin University of the Arts in 1987. He began his fashion career working with his former wife Karin when in 1968 they were awarded all three first prizes in a design competition. Professionally he had been working as both a fashion illustrator and journalist and as a freelance designer for fashion houses in Italy, France and Germany.
In 2003 Joop founded Wunderkind and presented his first collection in Berlin to an audience of press and retail guests. The brand had its international debut in September 2004 at the New York Fashion Week before moving to show in Paris in 2006.
Wunderkind is an idea of fashion really close to art, that doesn’t follow convention and elaborates pleasant contrasts with a modern and contemporary approach.
