ART FAIRS NOT TO MISS - BASEL 2019 -

One of the leading events in the contemporary art market starts on June 10-16 in Basel, Switzerland..

Basel show brings the world's leading galleries revealing the works of thousands of artists. Talks, Exhibitions and events are also offered by cul-tural institutions in Basel and its surroundings, creating a region-wide art week.

Here's a list of the fairs not to miss in Basel this edition:
Some 290 international galleries from 34 different countries are coming to-gether for the event, 19 of which are appearing for the first time including:

- Barro Arte Contemporáneo from Argentina
- Tommy Simoens and Vedovi Gallery from Belgium
- Galeria Jaqueline Martins from Brazil
- Temnikova & Kasela from Estonia
- Galerie Crèvecoeur and Galerie Christophe Gaillard from France
- Jahn und Jahn, Klemm’s and Daniel Marzona from Germany
- SpazioA from Italy
- Vadehra Art Gallery from India
- Marfa' from Lebanon
- Travesía Cuatro from Spain
- Galerie Knoell from Switzerland
- Project Native Informant from the United Kingdom
- Commonwealth and Council, Durham Press and David Lewis Gallery from the United States.


As every year the Art Basel show is divided in different sectors:

1- The Galleries showing the works of more than 4,000 artists
2- The Feature sector where historical and renowned artists are curated
3- The Statement sector for emerging artists
4- The Edition sector to reveal rare editions of renowned artist’s works
5- The Unlimited sector curated by New York-based Gianni Jetzer, a pio-neering exhibition platform for trans-disciplinary projects such as large-scale installations and live performances
6- The Parcours section enables visitors to discover Basel city. It is curated by Samuel Leuenberger who centered Parcours around sculpture this year.
7- The Film sector curated by Maxa Zoller and Marian Masone reflects on the role of media in today’s global world.
8- The Magazines sector where the public can consult art publications from around the world and attend public discussions led by leading figures of the art world.




[red]LISTE FAIR[/red]
Promoting young artists is not always an easy task… the LISTE committee selects annually around 75 to 80 galleries from over 30 countries. The LISTE fair also introduces 15 to 20 galleries for the first time each year. Many of which succeed thanks to their debut at LISTE.

VOLTA’s artistic director Amanda Coulson makes refined choices both eclectic and dynamic with a strong focus on solo presentations.
This fair is known for being the place for discovering new talents. It is loca-ted in the newest cultural hub in Basel just 9 minutes away from the main fair.

Design Miami/ is more than an international design show.
Here you’ll find high-end commercial opportunities for new collaborations with designers and design institutions, panels and lectures with luminaries, architecture, art and fashion, and last but not least, unique commissions from the world’s top emerging and established designers and architects.

[red]I NEVER READ, Art Book Fair Basel [/red]
The 8th edition of the art publishing fair I Never Read, Art Book Fair Basel returns to Kaserne Basel from June 12-15, 2019 with over 120 institutional and independent publishers from around the globe. The fair is dedicated to explore the relationship between contemporary art production, art pres-entation and the book. The show is completed by a dynamic programme that includes interactive installations, film, music, panel discussions, a radio station, and sport activities.
