CFDA's new chairman, Tom Ford who succeeded to Diane Furstenberg in June, had stated he wished to reinvent and shorten New York fashion week. It will now be a 6 day long FW instead of 9.
This season will be opened by Telfar, on September 6th and closed once again by Marc Jacobs.
Several brands will be returning to NYFW runway: Jeremy Scott, Khaite, Ulla Johnson, Christopher John Rogers, Christian Siriano, Brandon Maxwell, Tory Burch, Tibi, Jason Wu, Jonathan Simkhai, Anna Sui, Carolina Herrera, Christian Cowan, Tomo Koizumi, Pyer Moss, Proenza Schouler and Michael Kors, among others. As well as TommyNow fashion show, where Tommy Hilfiger will collaborate with world-famous actress Zendaya for the second time (The show will take place at the Apollo Theater in Harlem on Sept. 8 at 8:30 p.m).
