Rome is the Eternal City because it is an open-air Museum, every place tells us of past eras and historical/artistic superstructures. The Ara Pacis Museum is one of these stages, where the contemporary blends and merges extraordinarily with the ancient. Richard Meier}'s architecture safeguards in harmonious respect the Augustan altar.

In a tense climate due to unexpected closures for the global Pandemic, Rome opens its archives and celebrates fashion, its amazing ateliers, and tailoring houses of high Made in Italy craftsmanship.

The "RoMaison" project intends t{o bring fashion in Rome back to the spotlight, between history and current events, archives and workshops. It opens with the homonymous exhibition at the Ara Pacis Museum, curated by Clara Tosi Pamphili : from 23 October to 29 November he exhibits sketches and creations of the historic costume tailors of Rome, frequented by great actors and directors: Annamode, Costumes d'Arte Peruzzi, Sartoria Farani, Laboratorio Pieroni, Tirelli Costumes, as well as a section dedicated to Mensura, a manufacturer of mannequins for over a century.

For the first time, in addition to cinema and theater costumes, the rich heritage is revealed and authentic pieces from the end of the 1700s to today turn back to our glances.
"Romaison - says Virginia Raggi - is an invented name, which combines two words that tell a unique city where fashion and cinema have always generated a creative system appreciated all over the world".
The project extends all around in Rome, continuing with a photographic exhibition at the Auditorium Parco della Musica, on the occasion of the Rome Film Fest.

"I was so excited in front of the clothes for Pasolini's films - comments Tilda Swinton - in the stage costumes there is the presence. They transmit a real energy ».

Historical and contemporary stylists and costume designers come out from the dust of the shelves, to make us live magical dreams, between cinema, history and reality, for an eternal effect, which dresses Rome indeed.
