The world of art, like fashion one, is increasingly moving to virtual platforms to host visitors in total safety and without leaving their homes.

Thus, from 3 November to 9 December 2020 the Artissima art fair in Turin for the first time migrates on the platform to the xyz.artissima.art website, confirming its highly experimental and innovative vision in the Art sector.

Thirty galleries for thirty artists, divided into groups of 10 in the three sections chaired by a curatorial team, will be digitally exhibited following accurate themes and sections divided into "Present Future", "Back to the Future", and "Drawings".

"Present Future", curated by the independent curator Ilaria Gianni and Fernanda Brenner, independent writer, guests emerging artists under 40 who are brought in Artissima by their representative galleries or research hubs. Chosen for their quality and expressive research the winners will receive the Illy Present Future 20th edition award.

"Back to the Future" is curated by Lorenzo Giusti, director of GAMeC and Mouna Mekouar, curator and independent art critic. It proposes monographic projects dedicated to the rediscovery of great pioneers of contemporary art. The section includes works created between 1960 and 1999.

"Drawings" is curated by the independent curator Letizia Ragaglia and Bettina Steinbrügge, director of the Kunstverein in Hamburg and CEO of the Kunstmeile. The section welcomes contemporary monographic projects created with the technique of drawing, whether on paper or other media.

Artissima XYZ refers to the coordinates of the Cartesian axis, which as parallelism intends to highlight the three-dimensionality of both the thematic areas and the multimedia way, and "also refers to the last letters of the alphabet which, combined in their unpronounceable nature, open up the possibility of new and unexpected languages ”, says Ilaria Bonacossa art curator at the Sandretto Re Baudengo Foundation.

So, every artist will be able not only to present artworks but also to provide audio/video tracks or additional equipment such as podcasts, for example, for the benefit of the cyber-art-guest, while curators will be able to do the same, enriching and improving the platform experience.
