Beppe Modenese's funeral took place in Milan on 25 November 2020, who largely contributed to the creation of CNMI, later becoming its President too.

Until his death, he was still Honorary President, as great applause to what his presence and participation meant.

His great bet, that he won, was to bring fashion to Milan in the seventies, subtracting the primacy of the city of fashion from Florence and Rome.

The historical fashion journalist Paola Berti remembers those moments, in which the always calm and kind personality of Modenese was decisive: "It was not a painless tear, it was a lacerating period, with a lot of resistance. Only a polite person, but determined, correct, serious, persuasive, never a brusque word, who knew how to speak with foreigners, only someone like Beppe could have succeeded ".

He also was a pioneer and creator of Fashion Weeks: again in the 1970s, he brought together all the fashion shows at Milano Fiera, creating the first show of Modit prêt-à-porter. From here, the Milan Fashion Weeks kicks off with events dotted around the city.

Carlo Capasa, the president of the National Chamber of Italian Fashion, remembers him thus: "Modenese has contributed like no one to the birth of the Italian fashion system. Today we lose a reference figure and an icon". "The incomparable elegance, the superior human and intellectual skills, the profound sense of friendship and sharing - added Lavinia Biagiotti - are just some of the traits that I will miss most".
