Pitti Immagine has announced the dates and the location for the 88th edition of Pitti Immagine Filati. The fair dedicated to the excellences of international yarn manufacturers, which should have taken place concurrently with Pitti Uomo and Pitti Bimbo from February 21 to 23, will be held instead from 8 to 10 February 2021 in the exhibition spaces of the Stazione Leopolda in Florence.
“This is an extra-ordinary season in some very evident aspects and our duty is to find the best solutions for our exhibitors with respect to the ongoing evolution of the general situation. The assessments regarding the timing and methods of presentation of the collections persuaded us to find, together with the Technical Committee, a new autonomous location for Pitti Filati. It is not just a question of dates: we have also thought about the format, the message we want to give to the market,” said Raffaello Napoleone, CEO of Pitti Immagine.
By bringing forward the first finished product fairs by 10 days, Pitti Immagine Filati will launch the new season, premiering the S/S 2022 collections of yarns and knitwear accessories on an international level. The layout in the Leopolda will be enriched by striking and exciting elements that will be integrated with the pre-furnished stands and designed to comply with the new safety rules for protecting the health of exhibitors and visitors.
“The new positioning of Pitti Immagine Filati aims to underline the strong identity of a fair, which, at every edition, is distinguished by quality, innovation and an ability to give decisive input to the whole textiles production chain. We are convinced that, at this point in time, there will be good portfolio margins for buyers,” commented Agostino Poletto, general manager of Pitti Immagine. “The idea of moving to the Stazione Leopolda is a strategic choice for an extraordinary context such as the current one, and the Stazione Leopolda is an ideal architecture for maximizing the elements of creativity and manufacturing culture of the yarn manufacturers and their collections.”
The Spazio Ricerca will also have a special position inside the Stazione Leopolda. This important section will be presented in a dual dimension, both physical and virtual, for sharing the trends and moods of spring-summer 2022. Finally, Pitti Connect will flank and integrate the physical edition of Pitti Filati.
