The luxury fashion house launches Chanel Cultural Fund, an initiative to support the emerging creatives, including a prize and a series of long-term partnerships with international cultural institutions to create new programmes that will promote innovation in creative and cultural thinking.

As part of the project, the brand established the Chanel Next Prize dedicated to ten artists in music, dance, performance, and the visual arts. Each winner of the competition - open to all ages, nationalities and genres - will receive €100,000 to fund artistic projects and will be helped to access mentorship and networking opportunities.

The new Chanel Cultural Fund will collaborate with the London’s National Portrait Gallery, the Underground Museum in Los Angeles, Centre Pompidou in Paris and GES-2 in Moscow. The French maison will also work with cultural institutions in Asia, with a particular focus on China.

The Culture Fund represents Chanel's belief in the central importance of individual creativity in driving innovation,” says Yana Peel, Chanel global head of arts and culture. “At a time when we are navigating our way through complex new environments around the world, we know that artists generate transformative ideas that help us envision the way forward.
