The Italian designer Maria Grazia Chiuri will show Dior’s pre-fall 2021 collection in Shanghai on April 12, at the Long Museum West Bund.

The event will take place in conjunction with Shanghai Fashion Week, which is set to run from April 6 to 13 presenting the collections dedicated to the fall 2021 season. China’s most leading fashion week, scheduled to start at the end of March, as usual, returns in April with a physical show schedule, sustainability events, and digital initiatives.

The Dior’s pre-fall 2021 collection by Maria Grazia Chiuri, unveiled online last December through a video presentation, is an homage to the world of Elio Fiorucci and Andy Warhol, mixing the heritage and savoir-faire of the luxury French Maison with a colorful attitude typical of Pop culture.

China being one of the few countries where fashion brands can show their new collections with a physical format, thanks to the city’s ability to curtail the Covid-19 pandemic, the event marks the debut of Dior’s collection on the runway. The choice of venue is no accident because the Long Museum was the location of the Dior Man show in 2014 and the “Christian Dior: Designer of Dreams” exhibition last year.
