Cnmi-Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana and the Fashion Council Germany, in collaboration with the Italian Trade Agency Ice and Maeci-Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, have joined forces to launch the German Italian Fashion Experience to promote sustainable and responsible brands.

The initiative will run virtually from Juin 8 to 11 on the website german-italian-fashion-experience.com, to support the visibility of the Italian fashion industry on the German market and to create first business opportunities in Germany for the participating brands from Italy. Getting to know the German fashion industry and building a new network through individual, informal B2B meetings with retail experts and buyers are at the forefront. Ten Italian and ten German brands will present their fall 2021 collections in a virtual showroom and a high-quality fashion film contemporarily. The participating designers will also take part in digital workshops and webinars focusing on sourcing, distribution, brand building, and media in Germany.

Italian talents include Gentile Catone, Gilberto Calzolari, Apnoea, Melampo, MRZ, Radica Studio, Tiziano Guardini and DassùYAmoroso, as well as accessories brands Amato Daniele and Michele Chiocciolini. “Supporting emerging brands has always been a cornerstone of the Cnmi mission,” said Carlo Capasa, president of Italy’s fashion chamber. “The project allows our designers to introduce their collections to an international audience and to promote a cross-cultural exchange among young talents. I hope that this initiative will continue over time as a means for strengthening ties and enriching our industry.”

On the German side, the labels participating in the project are Antonia Zander, Buki Akomolafe, Julia Leifert, Lara Krude, Natascha von Hirschhausen, Nina Rein, Oftt and Working Title, in additon to accessories brands Faulhaber Products and Lutz Morris.

It is crucial for the future of the fashion industry to empower and to promote the next generation of creative market players,” commented Scott Lipinski, chief executive officer of Fashion Council Germany E.V. “Not only can we share expert and market knowledge with the participating young talents but also learn from their ideas and visions of the future of fashion.”
