London Fashion Week SS 2022: the highlights

Modem selected 8 young brands among those belonging to the new generation of designers who unveiled their collections during London Fashion Week, Spring Summer 2022 edition, held from June 12 to 14.

Maxime was founded by Maxime Fruit with the aspiration to translate the interior design universe onto the modern menswear wardrobe.

Auroboros is a fashion house that combines science and technology with physical couture and digital-only ready-to-wear. Housed within the Sarabande Foundation, set up by Lee Alexander McQueen, its works stands for innovation, sustainability and immersive design.

Preen By Thornton Bregazzi. Founded by Justin Thornton and Thea Bregazzi, the brand is committed to the pursuit of sustainability and environmentally friendly practices. Preen was winner of the Established Designer award at the British Fashion Awards 2015.

Bethany Williams is a sustainable fashion designer, humanitarian and artist. This year, Williams was a finalist for the International Woolmark Prize and announced as the recipient of the BFC Vogue Fashion Fund 2021

Qasimi. Created by Khalid Al-Qasimi in London in 2015. The brand is based on four pillars: architecture, colour, military and messaging. The brand’s ideology is standing up for civil rights and fighting in-equality and believing that art can be a conduit for change.

JordanLuca. Established by Jordan Bowen and Luca Marchetto, JordanLuca mixes Italian heritage with the raw intensity of London, bringing together an authenticity to counterculture and a commitment to craftsmanship.

Ahluwalia Lvmh Prize 2020 Finalist and Fashion Award winner Priya, Ahluwalia launched her namesake brand Ahluwalia in 2018.  It explores the potential of vintage and dead stock. Its collections are inspired by art, music and literature.

Ingrid Kraftchenko The label is founded by British radical creative, artist, activist and fashion designer Ingrid Kraftchenko. After a design experience at Margiela, Helmut Lang, AF Vandevorst, Barbara Gongini she launched her own label in 2019.
