LuisaViaRoma for Unicef: a gala dinner in Capri

The fourth annual event LuisaViaRoma for Unicef Italia, took place on July 31 in Capri, Italy, with a gala which was hosted at Capri’s Certosa San Giacomo, a 14th-century monastery and one of the oldest architectures on the island. 
Several international celebrities and world-renowned guests attended the event, among them, Orlando Bloom, Vanessa Hudgens, Maria Bakalova, Heidi e Leni Klum, Natasha Poly, Emily Ratajkowski, Nicky Hilton Rothschild, Sydney Sweeney, Olivia Culpo, Sabrina Elba, Tina Kunakey, Cindy Bruna, Jon Kortajarena, Frida Aasen, Lais Ribeiro, Dylan Penn, Eiza González, Nat Kelley and Karolina Kurkova.
The event ended with a live duet by John Legend and Katy Perry to the notes of Moon River, the soundtrack of Breakfast at Tiffany's in homage to Audrey Hepburn, one of the most famous UNICEF ambassadors.
More than €5 million was raised by the auction sale at the gala in support of Unicef’s work to provide care and protection to vulnerable children across the globe. The auction, conducted by Harry Dalmeny of Sotheby's, included different items: Steve McQueen's 1961 Cooper Formula Junior race car; art by Andy Warhol, Alex Israel, and Richard Orlinski; a notebook of drawings by Pablo Picasso; and the Yamaha grand piano played by Legend during his performance earlier in the evening, a portfolio of 10 images about Capri and the Costiera Amalfitana shot by Slim AArons.

«It has been a busy year for Unicef face the Coronavirus emergency, it supports the Covax project, which aims to distribute 2 billion doses of vaccines in low and middle-income countries,» said Paolo Rozera, general director of Unicef Italia.

«Over the years, our partnership with Unicef ​​has always been centered on the common goal of helping vulnerable children. The global challenges of the past year in this sense have strengthened our commitment. As company, we must raise awareness for these social problems, trying to generate a positive impact,» commented Andrea Panconesi, ceo of LuisaViaRoma.
