Due to the critical Covid-19 situation world-wide and after decisions by the Federal Government and the states, Frankfurt Fashion Week will take place physically in parts from January 17 to 21, 2022. Stand, showcases, previews, installations and exhibitions will be held on a basis of exact 2G rules (admission only for participants with proof of vaccinated or recovered status) and 2G-plus rules (all participants must be fully vaccinated or recently recovered and be able to present a negative antigen test on a daily basis). Conferences, talks and panels will partly go ahead in reduced, hybrid form. The Premium Group events - the fashion fairs Premium and Seek, the Fashiontech talks and the showcases of the new format The Ground - are postponing the physical Frankfurt premiere until July 2022.

A large part of the firms exhibiting at and visiting the fairs have already reacted to the latest developments in the pandemic by prohibiting travel and trade-fair visits on grounds of their duty of care to their employees and to protect against health risks. The organisers of Frankfurt Fashion Week are working on making a selective programme possible, featuring personal meeting formats in conformity with Coronavirus restrictions on-site in Frankfurt, in order to give the industry an opportunity to exchange valuable incentives.

"We are aware of the industry's pressing need for personal meetings. Therefore we are convinced that, with the showcases, events and conferences which we shall be holding in January to the extent possible in conformity with Coronavirus restrictions, we shall be sending a positive signal from Frankfurt that something is up and running", said Olaf Schmidt, vice president textiles and textile technologies at Messe Frankfurt.
