The Brooklyn Museum has announced an exhibition opening in July 2022 to honor of Virgil Abloh (Rockford, September 30, 1980 - Chicago, November 28, 2021)

This is the first museum survey exhibition devoted to the artist and designer Virgil Abloh, whose work reshaped notions of contemporary fashion, art, commerce, design, and youth culture,” said the museum. Curated by Michael Darling and Antwaun Sargent, the exhibition is titled Virgil Abloh: "Figures of Speech" and will be a revisitation of Abloh's first-ever exhibition, which took place at the MCA-Museum of contemporary art Chicago in 2019.

Abloh was celebrated by Louis Vuitton across two events. The "Virgil Was Here" show in Miami presented his last Spring/Summer 2022 collection, and a show dedicated to the designer's FW22 collection during Paris fashion week in January.
