The former president of the maison Hermès died on May the 1st.

Both president and director of Hermès from 1978 to 2006, Jean-Louis Dumas revolutionized the fashion house, transforming a family business into a worldwide group quoted on the market.

Representing the fifth generation of Hermès ( his father was married with an Emile Hermès daughter), he was promoted to the rank of Commander of the Legion d'honneur. Passioned by traveling, he tried to keep Hermès a multinational and craftsmen fashion house.

He left the head of the group in 2006 due to illness. He died on may 1st at the age of 72 years.
