Postponed due to the Covid-19, the new edition of Maison&Objet, the Parisian fair dedicated to the international design, home decor, and lifestyle, will take place from March 24 to 28 at the Parc des Expositions of Paris-Nord Villepinte.

Maison&Objet is an important appointment to highlight furniture trends, reveal new design talents, and create relationships.
The novelty of the latest editions is MOM, Maison & Objet and more, the digital platform available all year-round that allows buyers and brands to continue doing business even after the fairs and launch the latest collections.

The Rising Talents Award also returns for this edition. Rising talents aims to promote the most talented emerging designers from individual countries, and this year it will celebrate young Japanese design; a golden opportunity to take a closer look at the country’s up-and-coming talent and to evaluate how the late crisis that has shaken the world have influenced this young generation’s capacity for innovation. The designers were selected by a prestigious jury of experts, chaired by architect Kengo Kuma.

Finally, this 2022 edition hosts the new Designer of the Year: Franklin Azzi. At each edition, Maison&Objet names a Designer of the Year, celebrating the work of the most outstanding talents on the international design and decoration scene. Franklin Azzi will present Retro Futur, an immersive exploration of his creative process. Working out of his Parisian agency created in 2006, Azzi develops a cross-disciplinary approach that draws on a potpourri of perspectives and disciplines. His style is a dialogue between architecture, interior design, design, and modern art, with an attention to sustainability and aesthetics.

The theme of Maison&Objet of March 2022 is "new luxuries", from uber-luxury to lux populis. Uber luxury marks a marriage between fine crafts and new technology, creating a connection between tradition and innovation. The second theme, lux populist, develops on Pop Culture and Pop’litical, drawing inspiration from the world of street culture, driven by a generation raised on a diet of reality TV, Instagram, TikTok, and gaming.

With an opening scheduled for the day before, Maison&Objet In The City, an event organized on the sidelines of the Maison&Objet fair and offering a journey of discoveries in the heart of Parisian showrooms, will be held from 23 to 28 March 2022.
