Lvmh has always been devoted to supporting young talents. In 2014, the group reaffirmed this commitment with the creation of the Lvmh Prize for Young Fashion Designers, recognizing the talent of a particularly outstanding designer, selected by a jury of artistic directors from the French house.
Lvmh announced the eight finalists for the 9th edition of the Lvmh Prize 2022, chosen from a group of 19 semi-finalists. The semifinal of the competition took place from 4 to 9 March, with 19 young designers selected from 1,900 candidates who unveiled their collections in the showroom and on the digital platform.
The eight finalists, who will present their collections to a jury on the occasion of the final at the Louis Vuitton Foundation in Paris, will compete for the grand prize and the Karl Lagerfeld prize for innovation. The winner of the Lvmh Prize for Young Fashion Designers receives a 300,000-euro endowment and enjoys a year-long mentoring by a dedicated Lvmh team, while the Karl Lagerfeld Prize rewards a young designer with a 150,000-euro allocation and allows him or her to benefit from a year of mentoring.

"I would like to applaud their talent and their enthusiasm, and to congratulate all of them. I especially enjoyed interacting with each one and I was won over by their inventiveness, their way of celebrating know-how and crafts, as well as their approach to environmental issues," said Delphine Arnault, director and executive vice president of Louis Vuitton. "I would like to thank the Experts for their involvement, as well as the public who voted too, for the second year running: over 62,000 people were invited to select their favourite candidate."

Lvmh also rewards three young fashion design graduates, offering them the chance to spend a year with the creative team at one of the Group’s Houses.
