The winner of Zalando Sustainability Award SS 2023 will be announced on August 11, 2022

Zalando Sustainability Award SS 2023 is the prize launched by Zalando, a leading European online fashion and lifestyle platform, and Copenhagen Fashion Week to encourage fashion brands to explore innovation, celebrating strategies that contribute to a fashion industry that is less harmful to the environment. The winner of the fourth edition of Zalando Sustainability Award SS 2023 will be announced on August 11, 2022, on the occasion of Copenhagen Fashion Week SS 2023, which takes place from August 9 to 12, 2022. The winning brand will receive a monetary prize of 20.000 euro, and will partner with Zalando in developing an exclusive capsule collection with a sustainability focus including the piloting of innovative solutions around materials, production processes, technological solution, traceability etc. The project will be a joint decision between the brand and Zalando. Zalando will commit to market the collaboration in organic and potentially paid channels. The winning brand will also receive an offer from Zalando to buy a broad selection of the showcased collection making it available in the 23 Zalando markets to more than 48 million active customers. Finally. the winning brand will be onboarded to the Zalando platform.

The winner will be selected among the three finalist of the Award, MWORKS, Raeburn and Ranra, who will present their collections during Copenhagen Fashion Week at a dedicated show venue.

The finalists, award with a cash prize of 25.000 euro as support in production costs for the show, were selected by an experienced, international jury of thought leaders, including the ceo of Copenhagen Fashion Week, Cecilie Thorsmark; Sustainability Editor of British Vogue, Emily Chan; model, environmental activist and sustainability consultant Arizona Muse; and sustainability and brand advisor Dio Kurazawa. Representing Zalando on the jury are Kate Heiny, Director of Sustainability and Alice Marshall, Buying Director Womens Apparel. The jury members closely reviewed the applicants’ fundamental approach to sustainability and focused specifically on their use of certified materials, production processes, innovation, transparency and integration of circular practices.
