Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana-Cnmi continues to promote the most interesting international talents by ensuring they have an ideal showcase, the Fashion Hub, during the Milan Fashion Week Women’s Collection Spring/Summer 2023.

Hosted at the ADI Design Museum, the Fashion Hub was opened on 20 September, with an evening event presented by a celebrity patroness, the Italian actress Fiammetta Cicogna.

During the opening ceremony, the Cnmi president Carlo Capasa and Monika Schaller, Executive Vice-President for Corporate Communications, Responsibility and Brand at Deutsche Post DHL Group, handed prizes to the three winners of the Dhl Young Designer Awards. The aim of these awards is to support the talent of emerging designers, to whom Dhl will provide concrete help in their process of expansion in Dhl's international markets. The company is working hard, in fact, to develop projects with major global partners in support of the internationalization of Made in Italy excellences.

This year’s winners are Endelea, whose collection is on show at the Fashion Hub, and Dhruv Kapoor and Gentile Catone, brands on the official Cnmi calendar. During the ceremony, Gabriella Ruspa, Managing Director Marketing and Business Development, Dhl Express Italy presented “The Upcycling Project”, details of which may be found below in the description of the Fashion Hub projects. The evening also saw the announcement of the winner of the Kia Designers Award Edoardo Terribilini, who was given the opportunity to produce the wrapping of the Kia vehicle exhibited outside the Fashion Hub.

Also during the Fashion Hub opening ceremony and underlining the constant synergy between Cnmi and Camera Buyer Italia, Carlo Capasa with Camera Buyer Italia’s Giacomo Santucci and Giuseppe Angiolini (respectively president and board member in charge of communication and events) proclaimed Endelea winner of The Best Shops, the important prize assigned by Camera Buyer Italia, with a special mention to Atelier Florania. This prize will enable the designer to choose three boutiques from amongst the luxury multi-brands on The Best Shops circuit, which will dedicate space to his collection in their windows and/or dedicated corners. During the Milan Fashion Week, the Fashion Hub will also be hosting a series of meetings with important buyers to discuss new developments in the retail world.

Still on the subject of supporting emerging talents, during the opening of the Fashion Hub, Cnmi put the Fashion Hub’s presentations space at the disposal of the three winners of Who is on next? 2022, a project promoted by Altaroma. The winners were Setchu, Mokoo and Lessico Familiare.

Further, on 25 September, the Fashion Hub will host the presentation of Hope Fashion Ukraine, a cultural initiative designed to give international visibility to the talent of Ukrainian creatives around the world. Under the patronage of Cnmi, the initiative is funded by Confindustria Ucraina, Ukraine’s Fashion Week and the Honorary Consulate of the Republic of Ukraine. Under this project, 13 Ukrainian brands will exhibit 15 exclusive and iconic garments showcasing the uniqueness and potential of Ukraine’s fashion industry, which is reacting powerfully and tenaciously in the ongoing crisis of war.
