Copenhagen fashion week-Cphfw presents its brand lineup for Autumn/Winter 2023, where all brands must comply with the new requirements and standards for sustainability.

The event takes place from January 31 to February 3 2023, featuring 28 physical showcases alongside events, talks, celebrations, and activations, including Rotate, Ganni and Saks Potts alongside emerging labels such as A. Roege Hove, (Di)vision, The Garden, and OpéraSport. The designers Latimmier, P.L.N. and Iso.Poetism by Tobias Birk Nielsen will showcase their collection through the Cphfw New Talent emerging designer incubator supported by Circulose, the 100 percent recycled material for fashion. The three female emerging designers TG Botanical from Ukraine, Selam Fessahaye from Sweden and Stamm from Denmark are nominated for the annual Zalando Sustainability Award, celebrating brands that drive positive change and contribute to a more responsible fashion industry. The award ceremony will take place on Feb. 2 during the event. The three finalists will receive funding for production costs to debut their designs in the Zalando Greenhouse as part of the official Cphfw schedule. The winner will receive 20,000 euros and a partnership with Zalando to develop an exclusive capsule collection.

Each participating brand has been approved by the Cphfw show committee and the Cphfw sustainability committee, which is led by Rambøll and supported by Dansk Fashion and Textile and In Futurum. All brands have been selected both from fashion design criteria as well as from a full value chain perspective. The brands must meet 18 minimum standards for sustainability, revealed in 2019, including cover strategic direction, design, smart material choices, working conditions, consumer engagement and show production. The set design and show production will be zero waste, not using plastic packaging in store or for online orders. At least 50% of the collections is either certified, made of preferred materials or new generation sustainable materials, upcycled, recycled or made of deadstock.

"Our role at Cphfw is not only to present the best of Nordic fashion within our bedrock of responsible thinking, but also to support the wider global industry to further invest in our incredible creative talent we have to offer," said Cecilie Thorsmark, ceo Copenhagen fashion week.
