It is now official, that Sarah Burton, Alexander McQueen’s “right –hand” for 14 years and since 2000 Head of design for the women’s wear, is the one to take over the seat as Artistic Director of the British Haute Couture brand, after the master himself.

Sarah Burton, a former Central Saint Martins student, was also the one finishing the Fall 2010 collection after the designer’s death in February this year.
“The creation of modern beautifully crafted clothes was at the heart of Lee’s vision. I intend to stay true to his legacy”, the designer said in a statement. The brands corporative support, The Gucci Group assured at the same time, that Sarah Burton and her team can count on getting all the support needed the coming years.
