TOMO KOIZUMI is a fashion brand launched in 2011 by designer Tomotaka Koizum, while he was in university. In January 2019, a photo posted on Instagram caught the eye of world-renowned fashion stylist Katie Grand, and the following month he held his first show in New York. In the same year, He was selected for BoF500.In 2020, he was awarded the LVMH Prize 2020 as one of eight finalist nominees.At the opening ceremony of the Tokyo Olympics 2020, he was in charge of the costume for the national anthem singer. In 2021, he won the Grand Prize of the Mainichi Fashion Grand Prix.

The collection is characterized by bright colors and bold silhouettes. He continues to create new pieces hoping his works make people happy.

Q. What motivated you to apply to the FASHION PRIZE OF TOKYO
- Ever since our show at NY in 2019, we have been unable to present a show anywhere outside of Japan. If we were going to present an overseas show after so many years, I thought it must definitely be at Paris, so I decided to apply.

Q. How did you feel when you were chosen to be the award-winner
I was extremely excited at the thought of being able to make a Paris debut. I promise to do my very best to answer to the expectations of the judges and everyone.

Q. What is your goal for the 2 seasons as the award-winner (what you wish to gain the most, achieve)?
-These past few years, my activities have been limited to be centered around Japan, so I hope to broaden my scope of activities to a global scale.

Q. Please tell us your enthusiasm towards presenting a show at Paris next year
I am so looking forward to presenting the world to a beauty and excitement born and nurtured in Japan. I will be debuting a new TOMOKOIZUMI at Paris, so please look forward to it.
